How to report ?

In Belgium, there are different ways to report child abuse images.

a. Report to Child Focus.

Keep in mind that this is neither a complaint nor a declaration as with the police, only a report. Child Focus can be reached in different manners:

  • You can report via our online reporting form on this site.
  • You can call the toll-free emergency number 116 000 in Belgium (+32 (0)2 475 44 99 from abroad). Beforehand, please take note of the addresses of the sites and the time and date when you came across this material. This helps to ensure that your report is processed efficiently.
  • You can send a letter giving as much information as possible to the following address :

    Child Focus / Stopchildporno
    Houba - de Strooperlaan, 292
    B-1020 Brussels - Belgium

Any questions can be addressed to the following address: info_scp@childfocus.org.
This e-mail address can only be used for your questions, not to make a report.

b. Report to the Federal Police via Internet.

This can be done via the website http://www.ecops.be/ operated by the Belgian Federal Police. You can send the necessary information via an online reporting form.

c. Make a complaint to the (local) police services across Belgium.

File a statement at the (nearest) police station. The law entitles you to demand a copy of your statement.

d. Send a report direct to your access-, chat- or content- provider ,

following the procedure on their website. Probably the email address will be abuse@provider.be.

If you contact an access provider or host, they will deal with your report in accordance with their own policy. If you contact a "hotline", your report will be handled according to the policy displayed on the site. Some are official sites, others are created on the initiative of the private sector (access provider associations, child protection associations, etc.). Consequently, some collaborate with the police whilst others do not.
